All
Water levels permitting, we will be looking at alternative
boats, paddling them, being rescued from them and rescuing from them.
This can include an element of towing, so contrary to what I said
before, it would be good for you to have your kayaking gear.
I was going to say that by now you should have all read your
FSRT syllabus from the face book page, but as the BCU are in the process
of changing their website, it probably didn't work, it certainly doesn't
at the moment.
Had you read the syllabus, you would know that you will need
to get hold of certain items of equipment for the assessment day.
Tonight we will be using the webbing ( sewn sling or unsewn) and HMS
screwgate karabiner and Tow line (or improvised tow system, the webbing
and a pear shaped karabiner) , If you haven't got any of this, I will
have a set to use, if you have got it, bring it.
I won't be there until about 6.30, so if your early, please
get the boats out and get warmed up.
Regards
Martin
