[LCC-Club] Leeds Canoe Club Weekly Update 23/12/2008

Hi All,

I'm out of email contact until the New Year - so this update covers two weeks.

Sunday (28th December)    

Intermediate trip - Washburn release - fast Grade III dam release river  - running 10.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. Usual fees payable. Run by Esther from Greenstar - so may be a shuttle!

I'll be at the clubhouse 9.00 a.m. if anyone needs kit  Otherwise see you there.

Sunday (4th January)

Down on the calendar as an advanced trip - but difficult to say what the conditions will be that far in advance, or to know how many people might turn up - so lets call it an Intermediate trip.  Meet at clubhouse at 9.00 a.m.

If we get any rain, you advanced types can organize a separate trip J

Coming up:

Saturday 24 and Sunday 25th January 2009.    Lakes weekend.   Organised by  Hannah Fox [hannahlmfox at hotmail.com]

Staying at Ambleside Youth Hostel on the Friday and Saturday night. It costs £24.50 per night including breakfast.   There's a few twin rooms available so let Hannah know if you'd like one. The hostel also wants to know if anyone wants to eat in their restaurant in the evening so let her know if you do and if you have any food allergies. 

For those of you that haven't been before, the paddling should be suitable for improvers/intermediates, i.e. people who are comfortable paddling grade 3 water, but everyone is welcome to join us for the evenings and families can come too. 

If you'd like to come please let Hannah know and send her a cheque asap, payable to Leeds Canoe Club.  Her address is 14 Chestnut Avenue, Cross Gates, Leeds LS15 8ED.

Saturday 3ist January - First Aid Course - basic BCU, 8hr course at Kirkstall,  course will cost £41.25 and includes a copy of the first aid manual and use of all training equipment. There are 12 places available. Contact Martin [martin at mntdesign.co.uk]
