Hi All,

Sunday (21st September)  

Intermediate trip -  Washburn release, Fast Grade III dam release river near Otley. Running 9.00 - 5.00.   Costs ~£8 to paddle.  Meet at the clubhouse at 9.00 a.m. if you need kit or directions, otherwise see you there.

Coming up:

 

25th September   Martin/Kelvin will be conducting a rolling clinic at the Thursday pool session for anyone interested

 

27th September - LCC organizes the WildWater Race at the Washburn - volunteers required. We are having a meeting in the Vesper after the river session on Tuesday (23rd Sept) (~8.00pm)  to discuss what needs doing - everyone welcome.

 

28th September   Beginner's trip - destination to be decided on day

 

27th - 28th September  Slenningford Slalom Div 3 & 4     Camping weekend  organized by West Yorkshire Canoe Club. Contact A-P for more details ( adam-peter at ntlworld.com)

 

30th September     Social Evening - bowling at Kirkstall Leisure Complex 7.00 p.m. . Non-paddling family and friends welcome. Contact Cat Baxter if you intend to come - so she can book lanes as necessary  [catherine.baxter at yahoo.co.uk]

 

17th - 19th October. Introduction to White Water weekend - staying at the Goat Inn nr Llangollen.   Further details from Martin [martin at mntdesign.co.uk].

Nights are drawing in now - so we will soon be finishing evening sessions for the year - LAST SESSIONS WILL BE Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th September

Tuesday evening sessions on the River Aire at Kirkstall . At the clubhouse prompt for 6.00 p.m. aiming to be on the water for 6.30 until it gets dark about 8.00ish. Pub visit after :-)

Thursday evening river coaching sessions on the River Aire at Kirkstall. Training towards BCU Star qualifications. On the water for 6.30. Contact Martin Thornton  [martin at mntdesign.co.uk] if you intend to go. 

Please note - the tree is still in the river below the weir. It has been trimmed significantly (thanks to Eddie et al.), but still presents a hazard. Coaches - please make sure all beginners are made aware of the pinning potential and are supervised carefully.

 [n.b. pool sessions still running on Thursdays as usual.]
