Hi All,
Sunday (26th April):
Beginner's trip - meet at clubhouse at 9.00 a.m. Canal/River Aire to
Horsforth and back.
If you have not been before, the clubhouse is in the grounds of the
Rugby Academy, next to Morrisson's supermarket. Park in the Rugby
Academy carpark.

Ideally you should have a wetsuit, but you can probably get by, now the
weather is warming up a bit, with some old clothes/trainers you don't
mind getting wet. A nylon cagoule, running top or similar is advisable
over the top to keep the wind off. And bring some food/drink you can
carry in the boat.
Coming up:
Sunday 10th May Family Fun Day at White Rose Canoe Club/Roundhay Park.
10.00a.m. - 4.00 p.m. Have a go at bell boating, sprint, slalom, polo
and more. Contact gareth at bcu.org.uk for more details.
----------------
Pool sessions on Thursdays
Only people with bands are allowed to paddle. We are limited to the
number of boats we can have in the pool (a stipulation by the leisure
centre), so if you come late you probably won't get a boat. Please check
with me or the lifeguard BEFORE you get changed to see if there is any
space available. If there isn't space, you can try to persuade a mate
who has a band to share their boat, but the negotiations are down to
you.
If you bring your own boat it must be CLEAN (inside as well as out - no
mud, sand, dead leaves etc.), and have padding front and back. Secure
padding please - not half-hearted bits of sticky tape that come off as
soon as the boat hits the water!
We've been asked by the swimming team who are in the pool before us that
we don't go out on the pool side until they are finished. Please stay
in the changing rooms until they start to pack up.
Also - if you want to join in with the public swim after our pool
session - you need to pay in advance at reception.
Cheers,
Steve
