The Rat Race – Urban Adventure; Sheffield 25 & 26 July; Newcastle, 29 & 30 August 
 
Take the challenge for the RNLI!
Taking adventure sports right into the streets, waterways and urban jungle of the World's coolest cities. The Rat Race is an adventure event in which teams of three and pairs race in a multi-disciplined challenge of navigation, endurance, skills and guts. They will run, climb, mountain bike, kayak, abseil and navigate their way around a course that's only revealed hours before they begin.
The Rat Race Urban Adventure is designed to be extreme fun for all levels from newcomers to elite adventure racers.  The event takes place on Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 July in Sheffield, fusing the uber-urban landscape of South Yorkshire and the northern grit of a city famous for its climbing heritage.  This event will be filmed for Channel 4 so wear your best kit!
The Newcastle event takes place on Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August, taking in some of the city’s spectacular sights as well as some bracing sea air!   
I’d appreciate it if you could stick the attached poster somewhere prominent and let friends and colleagues know about this fantastic event.  Why not get a team together and have a weekend of extreme fun, while raising funds for the RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards?  All you have to do to take part for free is raise a minimum of £250 per team member, and you will receive full fundraising support and an RNLI tshirt to take part in!
