Hi All,
Sunday (1st March)
Beginner's trip - destination to be decided on day (but probably River Aire). Meet at clubhouse at 9.00 a.m.
If you have not been before, the clubhouse is in the grounds of the Rugby Academy, next to Morrisson's supermarket. Park in the Rugby Academy carpark.

Still pretty COLD so you need a wetsuit, and some thermal layers over the top, and a windproof cagoule or similar. And bring some food and drink you can carry in the boat.
Coming up:
April 4th - 5th Yorkshire Paddlesport Weekend 2009
Following on from the success of the 2008 Paddlesport weekend, the Regional Coaching Committee are happy to announce, with the support of Aldwark Scout Activity Centre, the 2009 dates - April 4th & 5th! This, like the previous weekends, promises to be a great weekend for both coaches and paddlers alike. The weekend is offering a vast range of courses and paddling opportunities; first aid, paddlesport skill training, sea kayaking (on the river), open canoe touring, specialist open canoe and a coach update forum. http://www.yorcie.org.uk/
9th - 12th April Advanced weekend to Scotland.
By popular demand the annual advanced trip to Scotland (near Fort William) has been booked again for the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. We will be staying in the same bunkhouse as last year. The four nights booked at the bunkhouse are 9/10/11/12 ( Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun night) April 09 . The cost is £12 per person per night ( total £48 ). Let Paul Crouch know if you want a space. ----------------
Pool sessions on Thursdays
Only people with bands are allowed to paddle. We are limited to the number of boats we can have in the pool (a stipulation by the leisure centre), so if you come late you probably won't get a boat. Please check with me or the lifeguard BEFORE you get changed to see if there is any space available. If there isn't space, you can try to persuade a mate who has a band to share their boat, but the negotiations are down to you.
If you bring your own boat it must be CLEAN (inside as well as out - no mud, sand, dead leaves etc.), and have padding front and back.
We've been asked by the swimming team who are in the pool before us that we don't go out on the pool side until they are finished. Please stay in the changing rooms until they start to pack up.
Also - if you want to join in with the public swim after our pool session - you need to pay in advance at reception.
Cheers,
Steve
