Hi All,

Saturday 24 and Sunday 25th January 2009.    Lakes weekend.   Those who have booked are staying at Ambleside Youth Hostel on the Friday and Saturday night. 

 

Martin Thornton is just coming up for a day's paddling on the Saturday 24th. If anyone cares to join him, meet at Devil's Bridge/ Kirkby Lonsdale 8.30 p.m. The plan is to meet up with us weekenders at whatever get in we have arranged from there. Saturday 31st January - First Aid Course - basic BCU, 8hr course at Kirkstall,  course will cost £41.25 and includes a copy of the first aid manual and use of all training equipment. May still be places available. Contact Martin [martin at mntdesign.co.uk]

 

Sunday 1st February       Beginner's trip - destination to be decided on day.   Meet at clubhouse at 9.00 a.m.

Pool sessions on Thursdays 

 

Only people with bands are allowed to paddle. We are limited to the number of boats we can have in the pool (a stipulation by the leisure centre), so if you come late you probably won't get a boat. Please check with me or the lifeguard BEFORE you get changed to see if there is any space available. If there isn't space, you can try to persuade a mate who has a band to share their boat, but the negotiations are down to you.

 

If you bring your own boat it must be CLEAN (inside as well as out - no mud, sand, dead leaves etc.), and have padding front and back.

 

We've been asked by the swimming team who are in the pool before us that we don't go out on the pool side until they are finished.  Please stay in the changing rooms until they start to pack up.

 

Also - if you want to join in with the public swim after our pool session - you need to pay in advance at reception.
