[LCC-Club] Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th July

Coniston FSRT

 

There is a spare place available on the Coniston FREE Foundation Safety
and Rescue test being held on Lake Coniston (in the Lake district) on
Saturday 11th July.

 

Foundation Safety and Rescue is a one day course, which teaches the
basics of rescues to a range of boats, this course is a very active,
very wet and very enjoyable course.

 

The reason this is FREE is that is being funded by the Coniston Mountain
Bike Triathlon, which we are required to provide safety for, in return
for their funding. The triathlon is on the Sunday and will start with
Kayak support for the swim (FSRT training will enable you to do this),
once the swim is over we are to marshal on the run, this should all be
over by around 1pm at which point we can all return home. Certainly back
in time for tea.

 

As part of the triathlon support team, camping is FREE as is the food at
the Saturday evening PASTA PARTY.

 

To be able to join in you need to be of a TWO STAR STANDARD (not
necessarily hold a two star certificate) and be able to get yourself and
your equipment to the Lake district.

 

Although there is only one place of the FSRT course, if there are two of
you, you can still come along and watch or join in, but no certificate
(sorry)
