[LCC-Club] Leeds Canoe Club Awards/Christmas Party - nominations requested

Hi All, 

 

You get a bonus club email this week!

 

The Christmas Party is getting closer (5th December - put it in your
diary), so we need nominations for the annual club awards.  

 

If you are new to the club, the awards are an opportunity for member's
voices to be heard - a true vox populi - either in praise of fellow
members or in ridicule!  

 

These are the categories:

 

Serious ones:

Services to Leeds Canoe Club

Club Captain

Bernard Chapman Award - this award is in the memory of Bernard Chapman
who was the backbone of the club for many years.

Pool Trainer

Adult Most Improved Paddler

Junior Most Improved Paddler

 

The rest:

Best Pin - think position, duration, no of people involved in boat
extraction....

Best Swim - longest, most spectacular, most embarrassing, most bruising
- plenty of scope on this one!

Duck Award - most consistent swimmer (or perhaps in Martin's case the
feathered things that frequently get in his way)

Dick of the Year - this award is for the individual who has caused the
most self-humiliation - we just get to rub it in!

Fashion Victim award - you've all seen them!

 

Please send any nominations direct to me asap (together with a brief
explanation of why they deserve nomination - but long rambling stories
especially relished). Names won't be changed to protect the innocent -
don't think we've got any!
