Hi All,

Pool sessions - we are back in business!  A new pool session has been found ( Thanks, Dockers), starting next Thursday (22nd October) - John Charles Sports Centre, Middleton. Session Thursdays 7.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. Meet in carpark ~ 6.45 p.m. All boats to be securely padded and clean.

This weekend:

Sunday 18th October   Beginners trip. Still not much rain, so likely to be a trip down the Aire to the Dark Arches and then back along the canal. Meet at clubhouse in Kirkstall at 9.00 a.m. 

 

If you have not been before, the clubhouse is in the grounds of the Rugby Academy, next to Morrisson's supermarket. Park in the Rugby Academy carpark.

We provide boats and kit. Ideally you should have a wetsuit as temperatures are starting to dip, but you can get by with some warm old clothes/trainers you don't mind getting wet. A nylon cagoule, running top or similar is advisable over the top to keep the wind off. And bring some food and drink you can carry in the boat.

Coming up:

Tuesday 3rd November    LCC Bonfire Night.  Bonfire, fireworks and Pie'n'Peas at clubhouse.

Saturday 5th December  LCC Christmas Party. Farnley Sports and Social Club. Details to follow.

29th -31st January 2010.   Lakes Weekend. As usual, we're staying at Ambleside Youth Hostel on the Friday and Saturday night. It costs £21.00 per person per night B&B for a dorm bed.  There are 2 double rooms and 3 twin rooms available, these will cost £23 per person per night, including breakfast, on a first come first served basis.  The paddling will be suitable for intermediates and better beginners (who have done a few evening sessions/river trips) but everyone is welcome to join us for the evenings and families can come too.
