Hi All,

 

As you may have seen on Mr Henderson's weekly email updates we're fast
approaching the WHITE WATER RACE event at the Washburn on Saturday 26th
September which LCC organise every year.  For those of you who haven't
been to this event it's a fantastic day's racing with the opportunity of
comparing yourself to some of the top international and Olympic racers.


 

The event consists of Division A & B races in both the Sprint (Part of
the river) and the Classic (the entire length of the Washburn).  I've
added a few more details in the attachment above if you want to know
more about the day.  

 

So that the day can go to plan we need Volunteers to help out.  Don't
think this isn't without some form of repayment, maybe food, maybe
paddling, maybe something else......but its well worth it.  Also don't
think that this stops you from entering the races because you can help
in between.  The jobs that need doing are in the attached info but are
briefly as follows:

 

1.	Race HQ - Jonathan D + one other (IT literate is useful)
2.	Start Judge - One + assistant
3.	Boat Holder - One, but can rotate with others
4.	Start Assistant - One
5.	Finish Judge - One + assistant
6.	Runners - Minimum 2 persons (Can use mountain bikes to make it a
laugh)
7.	Food - Minimum 2 persons
8.	Car Parking attendant - One
9.	River safety - Minimum 3 persons
10.	Photographer - Anyone who can take photo's!

 

So, if you'd like to give some help and have a day at the Washburn put
your name down.  Its always a good laugh.  We'll get together in the pub
next Tuesday 22nd September after the river to sort out who's doing what
and make sure we have everything covered.  Come along cause you'll need
a beer anyway.  Drop me an email to say you can help.
