It's time to make a decision. I'll be
booking a campsite at the end of April so if you want to come join
the fun I need final numbers. I'll be booking a campsite, probably
L'Argentiere as so far that seems to be the popular choice, 7 nights
from Sat 26th June to Fri 2rd July. If anyone wants to stay longer or
arrive earlier let me know. I'd guestimate the cost of travel,
camping etc to be about 250 per person based on 3 people sharing a
car. Then you've got food, wine and whatever else you want to spend
your money on.
I'm intending on setting off Fri 25th June
sometime in the afternoon and staying in an F1 style hotel Friday
night to avoid driving the whole day on Saturday. Other options
include camping in the picnicing spots off the toll roads over night
friday or just driving through the night. There may be other travel
options if people are taking vans and are prepared to take more boats
with them.
I'll start a thread on the new forums for people to
discuss travel arrangements and sort out lifts.
Ideally you'll
need at least 2 drivers per car otherwise it's a really long slog. If
you've not driven in france before you'll need at least a red warning
triangle, spare bulb kit, high visibility vests, GB sticker, it's
worth checking the AA or Rac websites for more details

Eurpoean breakdown cover and a second
driver insured on your car. You'll also want travel insurance that
covers grade 4 white water kayaking. I've used snowcard before but
I've never had to claim so can't vouch for them.
