Hi,

It's snowy, cold and miserable so time to start thinking about a nice warm paddling trip to the French Alps.

I'm considering organising a trip to the South Alps this summer probably late June. At the moment I'm just trying to get an idea of numbers and abilities to see if we'd have enough paddlers to make it worth while. Kelvin will be over there in the summer working and has said he may join us and possibly offer his coaching services if anyone was interested.

Likely based around Briancon we usually camp at L'Argentière-la-Bessée but depending on numbers and preferences chalets and other camp-sites are available. The water ranges from gentle grade 2 wave trains in glorious sunshine up to grade 4 and above depending on water levels.

Anyone interested let me know and I'll put together some options. If you're unsure whether the trip would be suitable for you feel free to ask myself or other more experienced paddlers. Most likely suitable for intermediates and above but don't rule yourself out just yet the trip won't be until June so there's plenty of time to get some practice in ;)

There are plenty of other activities available so no need to paddle every day so perfect to bring along non paddling partners. Alternativley you may be a river monster and want to paddle 2 or more rivers a day.

Richard.
