If we want to contribute, as they want any monies by 8th Feb, it would be a good idea to discuss how much we would be prepared to give for each of the options, loan, grant, donate, invest and then decide on which to do based on the outcome of the RDT meeting. Otherwise we'll end up doing nothing or making decisions at the last minute.
Perhaps rather than become shareholders a long term loan with a small interest payment might reduce any legal liability?
Richard.

Then
I guess we wait until the RDT calls the meeting that Chris Hawksworth was
suggesting so we can find out more.

Interesting idea but I would think we need legal advice for that
in case of unknown future costs.
I agree with Greg that it should be separate money to kirkstall
valley, since we may not be able to call on it back when we need it.
Does anyone know where on the river the land is. Is it actually useful
for canoeists who want to extend a trip past sleningford?

I would separate from the monies allocated for the
kirkstall valley thing because that may be needed at some point.
Don’t know if BCU would allow it but what about investing
in it, almost as a shareholding in the property? Then we could benefit
from any cash it generates. Downside is we’d probably have to pay any
costs it incurs aswell

Seems like something we should be supporting
– either a donation or a loan (or both?).
A donation of a couple of hundred? Or
perhaps a loan of the money we have earmarked for the Kirkstall Valley thing?
What does the Treasurer think?
