[LCC-Club] Leeds Canoe Club Weekly Update 20/01/2010

Hi All,

Those of you going on the Lakes trip will need to start organizing lifts etc. if you have not already done so. Anyone needing boats and/or kit - I will be at the clubhouse next week on Thursday (28th) at 5.30 p.m. to open up (but be prompt as I will need to head off for the pool at 6.00). If you can't make that, let me know and we'll try and organize something else.

Sunday 24th January 2010.  Beginner's trip. Meet at clubhouse 9.00 a.m. Possibly River Wharfe - Connistone-Linton.

If you have not been before, the clubhouse is in the grounds of the Rugby Academy, next to Morrisson's supermarket. Park in the Rugby Academy carpark.

We provide boats and kit. You will need your own wetsuit, and several fleece layers plus a nylon cagoule, running top or similar over the top to keep the wind off. And bring some food and drink you can carry in the boat.

Coming up:

29th -31st January 2010.   Lakes Weekend. We're now staying at Windermere Youth Hostel on the Friday and Saturday night. It costs £21.00 per person per night B&B for a dorm bed.   The paddling will be suitable for intermediates and better beginners (who have done a few evening sessions/river trips) but everyone is welcome to join us for the evenings and families can come too.
