Coaching Panel consists of a Regional Coaching Organiser (RCO), Local Coaching
Organisers (LCO), District/Club Coaching Organisers (DCO or CCO), ! Secretary
and a Treasurer, all of which are volunteers. This net work of volunteers
look after coaching, coordinating the provision of coaching courses within our
region, supporting the work of the clubs, providing coach update opportunities
and organising Coaching Panel meetings (which are open to all coaching scheme
members) as well as being the primary source of information on what is

Coaching Update Forum – April 4<sup>th</sup>/5<sup>th</sup>, 2009</span></strong> The
coach update forum will again be held at Aldwark during the paddlesport weekend
and will have a particular focus on all coaches who are either a current Level
1 or 2 wishing to find out how to transfer to the new UKCC scheme or those wish
to do one of the new CPD (Continual Professional Development) modules recently
release to complement the new BCU coaching scheme. More Information and a

Paddlesport Weekend 2009</span></strong> Following on from the success of
last years Paddlesport weekend, the Regional Coaching Panel are happy to
announce, with the support of Aldwark Scout Activity Centre, our 2009 dates,
April 4th & 5th! From as little as £50 for a fully packed paddlesport
weekend which includes breakfast, lunch, and evening meal and for those who
book early accommodation – where else can you get courses with accommodation
for less! This like the previous weekends promises to be a great weekend
for both coaches and paddlers alike. The weekend if offering a vast range of
courses and paddling opportunities; first aid, paddlesport skill training, sea
kayaking on a river, open canoe touring, specialist open canoe and a coach

Aid Matters</span></strong> In order for the BCU to recognize your
coaching qualifications up-to-date you are required to have your First Aid
Certificate logged on your record. For Level 1 and 2 coaches this needs to
be a minimum four hours training including CPR/EAV. For the current Level 3
coaches and above, eight hours including CPR/EAV is required. A list of
